Catherine and her partner were a pleasure to meet. Self-contained apartments renovated to a high standard. This was the only accommodation on our 11 day tour of the Pyrenees where we decided to have a relaxing evening in, with a takeout and a few bottles of red. Fantastic place to relax and chill out.

The structure, the swimming pool and its deckchairs, the playroom for the family, the swing, the tranpoline, the animals, ... Everything was perfect! (Without forgetting the washing machine)
The cottage and its private courtyard, very clean, perfectly furnished (cot, drying rack, sheets and bed linen at the top, equipped kitchen, dishwasher, large shower and beds 200 × 200cm!, the barbecue with charcoal provided ...) Everything is thought for your hosts and it is the biggest asset of your place! We felt right at home!
Being able to leave with the whole family was a joy, we will be back! The hens feasted on the morning slugs, the dogs for swimming and our 10-month-old daughter even made her nights as the place is calm.You are a friendly and very attentive couple, who pay particular attention to each of them. its tenants. Everything is designed so that the stay goes as well as possible by a very nice young couple. We had a last minute offer at the Gîtes de l'escargot Bleu, not far from Pau, in Oloron Sainte-Marie.
Magnificent place, set back from the road and a lot of greenery around for the happiness of the dogs!
We stayed in an independent building, with an enclosed garden, near the main building which houses the owners and another gîte (all equipped for people with disabilities! A big plus!).
Our rental was well appointed and very comfortable.
A beautiful shared swimming pool that we have not tested (I'm a little cautious) and a huge enclosure housing farm animals such as miniature donkeys, sheep and a goat, adjoin our land.
We even had the chance to see a duck with her ducklings wandering in the grass.
Very friendly and discreet owners who also run a small grocery store with regional products including "Garbure".
It is a place that I highly recommend and I regret living more than 900km away there, preventing me from planning a small weekend or other. But if the road takes me to the region again, I will be back with great pleasure!

Hello, we have just returned from a dog trekking trip in the Béarn Pyrenees. We were in the Barétous gîte. What to say: great welcome with owners always available and more than responsive to our requests ... More than well located cottage a few hundred meters from a river for the greatest pleasure of the hairy .... a few minutes from Oloron -Ste-Marie and therefore of any sought-after trade ... and at the gateway to 5 valleys where you can hike galore .... Brand new gîte: we were the first to occupy it! The owners still have great landscaping projects ... including perhaps an Agility course ... In short, a place that we recommend without hesitation!We were there with 2 Malinois and a Dutch Shepherd. If you like calm and hiking, you will be served ... The shared swimming pool is a plus. Some local products available on site.

If you are looking for a little corner of paradise where to spend a pleasant holiday in Béarn, L'escargot Bleu is the place to go! The place is equipped with everything you need to have a great stay:gîte with large terrace and barbecue, swimming pool, badminton net, trampoline, picnic table, play area and a large activity room with plenty of board games. In addition, a laundry room is available on site, as well as local products to taste.
In the cottage, the bedding is of high quality and super comfortable. Both bedrooms contained storage and wardrobes. The kitchen is equipped with a large fridge / freezer, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine and kettle. Everything you need is available on site for cooking: saucepan, frying pan, large pot, etc ... as well as plates, small plates, glasses and cutlery. There is even a barbecue! When we arrived, the basic necessities were already there: salt, pepper, spices, tea, coffee, chocolate, sugar. The owners had even graciously provided us with chicken eggs from their henhouse. A large car park is available for vehicles. Note: one of the lodges can accommodate people with reduced mobility. We had a great time.We will definitely be back for more next time!

We spent 15 days of splendid holidays in August at the lodgings L'escargot bleu. We were a family with 3 children. We had an exceptional welcome with attentive hosts and concerned about our comfort. The region is beautiful and the cottage is well located if you want to visit Lourdes, go on beautiful hikes and satisfy the children with an ocean day (allow 1 hour by car for each activity).
The cottage was really well equipped, very clean, and the pool is top notch.

My comment will be long, but I think it is important to say things when you are satisfied (and even when you are dissatisfied, because it helps in choosing the following ones).
The place to start: magnificent, calm, relaxing ... A breathtaking view of the mountains and nature ... Farm animals. Beautiful stone buildings ... A very beautiful place. Ideally located at the gates of the city (and the Lindt outlet store ... yum yum) without having the nuisance!
The cottage: brand new, with all the comforts, tastefully decorated and very pleasant.
The equipment of the cottage: super well equipped!I particularly enjoyed the real espresso machine (I admit, without my 4 morning coffees, I'm irascible) ... and the spacious, beautiful shower with enough pressure to wake up!
Bedding: if there is one point that particularly touched me, it's this one ... I have major back and neck problems ... I don't even count the times or when I wake up in a bed and breakfast or a hotel, I cannot put my leg on the ground because of sciatica that appeared during the night (due to bedding that does not suit me) ... I no longer count the times or woke up with a devil's headache because of my mushy necks (because of the pillow) ... But not at the blue snail's lodge: I woke up like a flower, my back painless and my neck intact ... Exceptional bedding ... It surprised me so much that I even went to look at the make and model !!! The same goes for my husband, sensitive to the neck who said to me, surprised, upon waking up: "these pillows are incredible, for once, I have no pain at all"!
Finally our hosts: what to say ... adorable beyond the norm ...caring ... with a heart as big as that and the desire to please and be of service ...
In short, you will understand, I recommend this place a thousand times ... And if I return to this area (which is not impossible), I will return with pleasure!

Everything was perfect, beyond our expectations.
The accommodation is a completely independent house in the garden, very spacious, new and equipped with everything you need. The living room is also spacious and has a fitted kitchen with all appliances. The house is located in a very quiet rural environment, just 5 minutes drive from the town center. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. They brought us pastries for breakfast (we had not indicated in advance that we would like to have breakfast ...). Great to havethought of children by providing a play and reading room. They also offer canned food and local gastronomy (organic fruit juices, honey, stews, etc.) for sale.
If I had to suggest a possible improvement I would think of a dinner service, although it is true that only a 5 minute drive into the center of Oloron one can find restaurants and pizzerias.

A pretty little country house, on a very beautiful property. Fully equipped tiptop kitchen, brand new. The mosquito nets on the windows are a plus, as are the large, comfortable beds. But the big highlights are the pool and the extra playroom for the kids. Our 3 year old spent hours there!

We had a last minute offer at the Gîtes de l'escargot Bleu, not far from Pau, in Oloron Sainte-Marie.
Magnificent place, set back from the road and a lot of greenery around for the happiness of the dogs!
We stayed in an independent building, with an enclosed garden, near the main building which houses the owners and another gîte (all equipped for people with disabilities! A big plus!).
Our rental was well appointed and very comfortable.
A beautiful shared swimming pool that we have not tested (I'm a little cautious) and a huge enclosure housing farm animals such as miniature donkeys, sheep and a goat, adjoin our land.
We even had the chance to see a duck with her ducklings wandering in the grass.
Very friendly and discreet owners who also run a small grocery store with regional products including "Garbure".
It is a place that I highly recommend and I regret living more than 900km away there, preventing me from planning a small weekend or other. But if the road takes me to the region again, I will be back with great pleasure!

Hello, we have just returned from a dog trekking trip in the Béarn Pyrenees. We were in the Barétous gîte. What to say: great welcome with owners always available and more than responsive to our requests ... More than well located cottage a few hundred meters from a river for the greatest pleasure of the hairy .... a few minutes from Oloron -Ste-Marie and therefore of any sought-after trade ... and at the gateway to 5 valleys where you can hike galore .... Brand new gîte: we were the first to occupy it! The owners still have great landscaping projects ... including perhaps an Agility course ... In short, a place that we recommend without hesitation!We were there with 2 Malinois and a Dutch Shepherd. If you like calm and hiking, you will be served ... The shared swimming pool is a plus. Some local products available on site.

If you are looking for a little corner of paradise where to spend a pleasant holiday in Béarn, L'escargot Bleu is the place to go! The place is equipped with everything you need to have a great stay:gîte with large terrace and barbecue, swimming pool, badminton net, trampoline, picnic table, play area and a large activity room with plenty of board games. In addition, a laundry room is available on site, as well as local products to taste.
In the cottage, the bedding is of high quality and super comfortable. Both bedrooms contained storage and wardrobes. The kitchen is equipped with a large fridge / freezer, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine and kettle. Everything you need is available on site for cooking: saucepan, frying pan, large pot, etc ... as well as plates, small plates, glasses and cutlery. There is even a barbecue! When we arrived, the basic necessities were already there: salt, pepper, spices, tea, coffee, chocolate, sugar. The owners had even graciously provided us with chicken eggs from their henhouse. A large car park is available for vehicles. Note: one of the lodges can accommodate people with reduced mobility. We had a great time.We will definitely be back for more next time!

We spent 15 days of splendid holidays in August at the lodgings L'escargot bleu. We were a family with 3 children. We had an exceptional welcome with attentive hosts and concerned about our comfort. The region is beautiful and the cottage is well located if you want to visit Lourdes, go on beautiful hikes and satisfy the children with an ocean day (allow 1 hour by car for each activity).
The cottage was really well equipped, very clean, and the pool is top notch.
Everything is well thought out and planned for the children (game room, swimming pool, badminton ...).

With easy access to Spain, the Pyrenees, Oloron St Marie, Pau and its surroundings, we didn't lack the things to do, but the time! My comment will be long, but I think it is important to say things when you are satisfied (and even when you are dissatisfied, because it helps in choosing the following ones).
The place to start: magnificent, calm, relaxing ... A breathtaking view of the mountains and nature ... Farm animals. Beautiful stone buildings ... A very beautiful place. Ideally located at the gates of the city (and the Lindt outlet store ... yum yum) without having the nuisance!
The cottage: brand new, with all the comforts, tastefully decorated and very pleasant.
The equipment of the cottage: super well equipped!I particularly enjoyed the real espresso machine (I admit, without my 4 morning coffees, I'm irascible) ... and the spacious, beautiful shower with enough pressure to wake up!
Bedding: if there is one point that particularly touched me, it's this one ... I have major back and neck problems ... I don't even count the times or when I wake up in a bed and breakfast or a hotel, I cannot put my leg on the ground because of sciatica that appeared during the night (due to bedding that does not suit me) ... I no longer count the times or woke up with a devil's headache because of my mushy necks (because of the pillow) ... But not at the blue snail's lodge: I woke up like a flower, my back painless and my neck intact ... Exceptional bedding ... It surprised me so much that I even went to look at the make and model !!! The same goes for my husband, sensitive to the neck who said to me, surprised, upon waking up: "these pillows are incredible, for once, I have no pain at all"!
Finally our hosts: what to say ... adorable beyond the norm ...caring ... with a heart as big as that and the desire to please and be of service ...
In short, you will understand, I recommend this place a thousand times ... And if I return to this area (which is not impossible), I will return with pleasure!

Everything was perfect, beyond our expectations.
The accommodation is a completely independent house in the garden, very spacious, new and equipped with everything you need. The living room is also spacious and has a fitted kitchen with all appliances. The house is located in a very quiet rural environment, just 5 minutes drive from the town center. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. They brought us pastries for breakfast (we had not indicated in advance that we would like to have breakfast ...). Great to havethought of children by providing a play and reading room. They also offer canned food and local gastronomy (organic fruit juices, honey, stews, etc.) for sale.
If I had to suggest a possible improvement I would think of a dinner service, although it is true that only a 5 minute drive into the center of Oloron one can find restaurants and pizzerias.
