Parisian and Burgundian by origin, Béarnais by heart ... After 15 years of living together in Rhône-Alpes, we settled in Oloron Sainte-Marie for its relaxed way of life, the warmth of its inhabitants, its exceptional location between the Atlantic and the Pyrenees , the richness of its terroir and its constantly changing landscapes, thanks to a horizon of mountains bathed in light that only exists in the Southwest .
We were looking for a place where we could live in harmony with nature, close to all the amenities of the city. In the Saint-Pée district we found all of this, and more: a traditional 18th century Bearnaise, in which the poet Tristan Derême grew up, established on a two hectare estate.
Since August 2018 we have settled there, with our animals that will brighten up the stay of your children - miniature donkeys and dwarf goats, chickens and ducks. The name of the site naturally imposed itself on us: " The blue snail», In reference to Tristan Derême's work and as an invitation to take the time to live.
Several months of work will have been necessary to restore the outbuildings and equip them with all the modern comforts that we ourselves appreciate on vacation, while retaining the soul of the place.
We were able to start sharing this estate steeped in history with you in June 2019, with the opening of the first two gîtes: the Barétous gîte and the Josbaig gîte. The structural work has been completed on the entire site, which has regained its calm. We opened the Ossau gîte in early summer 2020 and hope to complete our offer with the Aspe gîte in summer 2021. Eventually, we will be able to accommodate up to 18 people.
